Training Teen Radio Hosts to Amplify Their Voices
While the Ouro Negro radio dramas are fictional, the guest call-in shows bring the reality of teens and the wider range of listeners into the studio. The program allows teens to share their knowledge and experiences, and they make decisions about the various themes and issues addressed in the radio dramas.
UNICEF Mozambique has been the initial funder and significant supporter of Ouro Negro since 2015. Rising Impact co-created Ouro Negro with UNICEF, the World Food Programme, the Government of Flanders, MISAU (the Ministry of Health in Mozambique), and Grand Canada Challenges.
